Integration
Brønnøysund Register Centre integration
Company lookup by Norwegian organisation number inside your own forms and systems, with name, address, industry and status from the Central Coordinating Register.
The Central Coordinating Register for Legal Entities has an open API with the name, address, industry code, head count and status of every Norwegian business. It's free and needs no agreement, but it still has to be built in where it's useful.
Typical uses are letting a customer type their organisation number and having the rest of the form fill itself in, keeping your customer records up to date when a company moves or changes name, and flagging when a customer has been deleted or is in bankruptcy proceedings.
What you can use it for
- Fill in company name and address from the organisation number
- Check that an organisation number exists and is active
- Get notified when a customer goes bankrupt, is deleted or changes address
- Pull industry code and head count for segmentation in your CRM
- Find a company's sub-units and branches
Access and setup
The open API for the Central Coordinating Register needs no key or agreement. It also has its own update feed, so the customer register can be kept current by fetching only what changed, instead of looking everyone up again every night.
I've built this into sales and customer systems, and it's often a small job that saves a lot of typing and a fair few mistakes.
Common questions
- Does the Brønnøysund API cost anything?
- No, the Central Coordinating Register is open data and free to use. The only cost is the work of building it in.
- Can we get roles and board members too?
- Yes, roles such as CEO and board are open too. More detailed data, such as financial statements, has other terms, and I can look at that if you need it.
- Does it work in a form on our website?
- Yes. The customer types the organisation number and the name and address fill in straight away.
