Integration
Fiken integration
I connect the system you sell or invoice from to Fiken, so invoices, credit notes and customers land there without anyone typing them in twice.
If you run Fiken next to your own system for sales, orders or hours, someone usually ends up entering the same invoices twice. I build the link that sends them across as they happen, on the right account with the right VAT.
I've built this several times. Usually it's a business invoicing from its own system: invoices and credit notes go to Fiken, customers stay in sync, and each credit note is tied to the invoice it belongs to.
What can be connected to Fiken
- Invoices and credit notes, on the right account and VAT code
- Customers and suppliers, so the contact register matches in both places
- Products, if you want sales split per product or service
- Payments, so your system shows when an invoice has been paid
- Purchases and vouchers, such as expenses registered somewhere else
Access and setup
Fiken grants API access per company, and you decide which company the integration can see. I test against a separate test company in Fiken before anything touches the real accounts, so no test invoices end up in the books.
Most of the time goes into agreeing on what should be a product in Fiken and what is just a text line, which accounts things go on, and what happens when an invoice changes after it was sent. I go through that with you before writing any code.
Common questions
- Can invoices still be sent from Fiken?
- Yes. The integration can either create the invoice in Fiken and let Fiken send it, or send it from your own system and only post it in Fiken. It depends on where you want the customer to receive it from.
- What happens to invoices that are already entered?
- They stay as they are. The integration picks up invoices from a date you choose, so whatever was entered by hand isn't duplicated.
- What if Fiken is down when an invoice is created?
- Then the invoice waits in a queue and goes across when Fiken responds again. Nothing is lost, and nothing is sent twice.
