Integration
Visma integration
Integrations with Visma's accounting and line-of-business systems, whether it's invoices, customers, payroll or data going out to reporting.
Visma isn't one system, it's many. eAccounting, Business NXT, Visma.net and a long list of line-of-business products each have their own API and their own way of granting access. So the first thing I ask is which one you actually run.
Some of them need a separate API agreement with Visma and consent from the customer before access is granted. That takes a while, so it's worth starting early while the rest is planned.
Which Visma systems
- Visma eAccounting for smaller businesses
- Visma Business NXT, with a GraphQL API
- Visma.net ERP for larger setups
- Visma line-of-business systems, where access often needs a separate agreement
- Visma payroll and HR systems, when payroll data needs to move on
Access and setup
Most Visma systems use OAuth sign-in, where a user on your side approves access once. For the line-of-business systems there's often an API agreement and written consent on top, and that process goes through Visma.
The job itself is usually the same: get data from where it's created into Visma, or out of Visma and on to reporting, without anyone doing it by hand.
Common questions
- How do I know which Visma system we have?
- The name is usually at the top when you log in, or on the invoice from Visma. Send me the name and I'll know what applies.
- How long does it take to get API access?
- For eAccounting and Business NXT it's quick. For line-of-business systems with a separate agreement it can take a few weeks, so it pays to start that part first.
- Can you pull data out of Visma for reporting?
- Yes. Accounting figures, orders and other data can be pulled out regularly and put in a warehouse or straight into a dashboard.
